The
Arcata Bottoms Run was held on November 9th under sunny skies at St.
Mary’s Church in Arcata with a total of 130 runners in the two runs (3 &8
mile). It takes many volunteers to hold such a successful and memorable event
and they all need to be recognized: Margaret
and helpers
at the aid station; Joe, Peter and Dean
for course monitoring; Nikki
and Sherry for
registration; Gary, Paul and Yoshi
at the finish line; Marlene
for her pre-run assistance; Jack
for the clocks and a much need banana run; Alicia
Uemura for opening up the St. Mary’s
Parish Hall; Matthew
for his work on the necessary permits and guarantee for a sunny race day; and Yoon for his photos and constant
support. But special thanks to two people: my co-director Jessie Hunt who was there
helping in every way during the run including coloring my day blue and to wife Carolyn for not only being a course
monitor but also putting up with me during all of the days leading up to race
day. Also thanks to all of the runners
for making this the largest and best Arcata Bottoms Run ever; hope to see
