Sequoia Park 2M & 5.3M Run

        We want to thank all of you who came to the Sequoia Park Run. Once again the weather gods smiled upon us and waited until the last of the race paraphernalia was packed up and headed to the shed, before unleashing the rain. Thanks to ALL our volunteers – Dean Matheson, Mark Larripa, Paul Kraus, Cathy and Allen Deyo, Donna Ayres, Laura Bringhurst, Caroline Carson (great cookies!), Mj Goble, Sharon Powers, Richard Vogt, Gary Timek, Tom Martin, Jessie Hunt, Terri Vroman-Little, Charlie and Lynn Lawrence, Jessie Christiansen, Kathy Strickland, Nancy Hall, Meredith and Alicia Launius, Robert Ayres, Boy Scout Troop 27, Murphy’s Market, and of course, our photographer and timely newsletter editor, the former great Yoon Kim. We are so pleased to be working with Kim Bergel, our liaison to the Sequoia Park Zoo. The SPZ donated six passes this year and we are anticipating coming up with more ways to involve the zoo with our race. We hope our members will continue to support this Eureka treasure.

        Of note, two young club members set all-time records in their age categories female and male (15-19) in the 5.3 miler. Congrats to Chloe Pigg and Kellen O’Neill. Check the www.6rrc.com website to see a list of the all-time records.
